Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, picked up right where he left off after the match against Afghanistan in Delhi. Rohit’s brilliant innings of 86 runs, featuring 6 sixes and 6 fours, propelled India to yet another remarkable World Cup victory over their arch-rivals, Pakistan. With this dominant win, India maintains an unbeaten record and secures the top spot in the tournament standings.

He looks determined to keep conquering new heights in cricket. Rohit now joins an exclusive club, becoming only the third player in the history of the sport to achieve 300 sixes in One Day Internationals (ODIs). Ahead of this match, he needed just three sixes to attain this momentous milestone, and he reached it in his 246th ODI innings.

In the world of ODI six-hitting, Rohit Sharma joins the ranks of former Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi (with 351 sixes) and former West Indian opener Chris Gayle (who has 331 sixes). Recently, Rohit also grabbed the title of the leading six-hitter in international cricket, beating Chris Gayle’s record during the Afghanistan match in Delhi.

In the context of the ODI World Cup, Rohit occupies the third position in the list of leading six hitters. He’s hit an incredible 32 sixes in just 20 games. Chris Gayle tops this list with 49 sixes, while former South African captain AB de Villiers is in second position with 37 sixes. Rohit’s aggressive approach was clear as he completed his 53rd ODI half-century in just 36 balls, showing no fear in the face of Pakistan’s spinners. Shaheen Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Hasan Ali struggled to find solutions against Rohit’s attack.
