This showdown of cricket giants promises to be an electrifying encounter, with one player standing out above the rest, none other than the charismatic captain of Pakistan, Babar Azam.

The World Cup undoubtedly stands as the zenith of international cricket, where nations vie for supremacy. This year’s edition, hosted by India, is no exception. In a bold prediction for the upcoming World Cup 2023, former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir has singled out Pakistan’s skipper, Babar Azam, and India’s captain, Rohit Sharma, as potential frontrunners to be the top century-makers in the tournament.

The former Indian opener said to Star Sports, “The kind of technique Babar Azam has, I think he will score three to four centuries for Pakistan in the upcoming tournament.”

Gambhir also emphasized that the current top-ranked batsman in the world has the potential to build momentum and establish the tempo for the entire tournament through his exceptional batting skills. It’s noteworthy that Babar Azam stands as the sole player who has not missed a single One Day International (ODI) match since the 2019 World Cup. His remarkable consistency at the crease is a testament to his reliability as a batter for Pakistan.

Gautam Gambhir has also expressed his confidence in Rohit Sharma, emphasizing that Rohit is undoubtedly determined to make the most of this opportunity.  He said, “With the kind of ability he has, India is playing the World Cup at home.”We all know about Rohit Sharma’s record at home. He has three or four double centuries. So I am sure he will be looking forward to it, and he will be eager to turn it around for India.”

Besides these two exceptional batters, there are several other notable players eager to capitalize on the batsman-friendly pitches in India. Alongside the favorable batting conditions, India’s pitches also provide advantageous settings for spinners to showcase their skills.
