Rishabh Pant is recovering faster at National Cricket Academy but is expected to take some more time to gain full fitness for the comeback.
In December 2022, Indian cricketer Rishabh Pant was involved in a serious car accident, which caused him multiple injuries. Initially, it was believed that his recovery would take around 18 months. However, Pant’s determination and commitment to his treatment have been exceptional, allowing him to start practicing in the nets just eight months after the accident.
Recent reports suggest that Pant is handling deliveries exceeding 140 kilometers per hour without any issues at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). Despite this progress, he is not yet fit to make a comeback to professional cricket. Currently, he is focusing on getting accustomed to small body movements.
The NCA staff is amazed at Pant’s speedy recovery, and if he continues at this pace, he may return to the game sooner than expected. A close source shared that Pant is overcoming every obstacle and is already setting his sights on his next goal.
“Rishabh has been making a fine recovery. He has started to take on deliveries with speed excess to 140 kmph. We all are delighted with the way he has been crossing every hurdle in his recovery. He is keeping well. His next target will be to focus on larger and quicker body movements, which we aim to achieve in the next couple of months,” an NCA source told RevSportz.
KL Rahul is expected to make his comeback in Asia Cup
There are hopes that KL Rahul could make a swifter recovery before the intra-continental cup, while Iyer’s recuperation might take a bit more time. However, it’s essential to understand that nothing has been confirmed yet. Both the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the National Cricket Academy (NCA) are carefully monitoring their progress, taking it day by day.
In the event that either player is unable to regain full fitness, the team management is likely to support Suryakumar Yadav and Sanju Samson as potential replacements.
