Jasprit Bumrah is “completely fit” and he is set to take part in the 3-match T20I series against Ireland, starting August 18, BCCI secretary Jay Shah confirmed on Thursday.
In the world of Indian cricket, there have been several fast bowlers who have left their mark, but very few have managed to instill fear in the hearts of batsmen like Jasprit Bumrah. He has been an outstanding pace bowler for Team India, and his absence due to a back injury in July 2022 was deeply felt.
Unfortunately, this injury caused Bumrah to miss out on several significant tournaments, including the 2022 T20 World Cup, the 2022 Asia Cup, and the final of the World Test Championship, among others. Fans and the Indian team eagerly awaited his return.
Thankfully, there is some good news on the horizon. Recently, the 29-year-old fast bowler was spotted back in action, diligently training at the NCA (National Cricket Academy). This brought a sigh of relief to both fans and the national team.
Addressing the excitement around Bumrah’s return, the Secretary of the BCCI, Jay Shah, stepped forward to confirm the positive development. He shared that Bumrah is now completely fit and might be included in India’s upcoming series against Ireland.
“Bumrah is completely fit, and he may be part of the Ireland series,” Shah mentioned in an interview with Cricbuzz. The three-match T20I series against Ireland is scheduled to take place in Dublin on August 18, 20, and 23.
With this positive update, fans eagerly anticipate seeing Jasprit Bumrah back on the field, doing what he does best and adding strength to the Indian bowling attack once again.
