In a face-off at Delhi’s Arun Jaitley Stadium, Australia and the Netherlands faced each other on a cricket field. Australia emerged victorious in the toss and decided to take the batting initiative. Their prowess with the bat was evident as they compiled a formidable total of 399 runs for the loss of 8 wickets within their allotted 50 overs. This showcased their strong batting performance, with notable contributions from Warner, who scored a century with 104 runs, Smith adding 71 runs, Labuschagne contributing 62 runs, and Maxwell making an impressive 106 runs.

The major turning point in the game came when Glenn Maxwell went up to the batting crease. At that moment, Australia found themselves at 266-4 after 39 overs, and the necessity for a significant total was extremely important. Despite the rising pressure and the loss of wickets, Maxwell displayed unflinching tenacity as he set his eyes on making a huge impression.

In a scant 40 deliveries, Maxwell achieved the coveted century, shattering Aiden Markram’s prior record established in the same event. Markram had hit a century in 49 balls against Sri Lanka at the very same stadium, but Maxwell’s blazing performance of 106 runs from just 44 balls exceeded that milestone. It was a spectacular exhibition of power and precision, with Maxwell hitting nine boundaries and sending eight massive sixes screaming over the boundary.

What added to the excitement was Maxwell’s important partnership with his skipper, Pat Cummins. Together, they created an amazing 103-run stand for the seventh wicket. Even though Cummins contributed just 8 runs, their time at the crease underlined Maxwell’s overwhelming presence during that portion of the game.

It’s worth highlighting that Maxwell’s electric exhibition of power-hitting throughout the later portion of the innings played a crucial role in Australia’s remarkable total of 399-8 within their stipulated 50 overs.
