In a bid to protect their players from the pollution levels, the management of the Bangladesh cricket team has decided to cancel their practice session. On November 6 (Monday), Bangladesh is set to face Sri Lanka in Delhi. Confirming this move, Khaled Mahmud, the team director, acknowledged the reports of Bangladesh choosing not to hold their practice session in Delhi on Friday. Bangladesh had arrived in Delhi on November 1, with their initial practice session originally slated for Friday evening. The practice session, initially planned from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., had to be canceled due to the persistently unfavorable air quality in the national capital region since Friday morning. The situation had deteriorated to the point where even schools and colleges had to be closed down due to the smog.

Bangladesh team director Khaled Mahmud said, “We actually had a training session today, but due to worsening conditions, we didn’t take the chance. We have two more training days. Some of us developed coughing, so there’s a risk factor. We don’t want to get sick. We don’t know if things will improve, but we have training tomorrow. We want all the players to be fit for the important game coming up on November 6.”

As of now, there haven’t been any talks about rescheduling the Bangladesh vs. Sri Lanka match, which was initially planned for Monday. Bangladesh is set to have their next practice session on Saturday evening, and they will also be training on Sunday in the afternoon.
