Under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, India achieved a convincing 4-1 series victory against England, strengthening their key World Test Championship points. Despite losing the toss and being asked to bowl first, the Indian team justified their captain’s decision by preventing England’s batters from settling down. Kuldeep Yadav played a key role, grabbing a five-wicket haul, while Ravichandran Ashwin contributed with four wickets, reducing England to a modest 218 runs in the first innings. Zak Crawley top-scored for England with 74, but the rest of the lineup struggled to surpass 30 runs.

In response, India displayed a great batting effort. Openers Yashasvi Jaiswal (57) and Rohit Sharma (103) set the tone, followed by a magnificent century from Shubman Gill (110). Debutant Devdutt Padikkal (65) and Sarfaraz Khan (56) also played key innings, enabling India to construct a formidable total of 477 runs and take a dominating 259-run lead. Contributions from Kuldeep Yadav (30) and Jasprit Bumrah (20) further strengthened India’s position.

In the second innings, England struggled with the bat, and the Indian bowlers extended their dominance. Ravichandran Ashwin got another five-wicket haul, while Jasprit Bumrah and Kuldeep Yadav took two wickets each, bowling out England for 195 runs. Joe Root fought a lone struggle with 84 runs, but the lack of assistance from other hitters resulted in India’s final victory by an innings and 64 runs, clinching the series victory with 4-1.

– No Kohli.
– No Shami.
– No Rahul in last 4 Tests.
– No Jadeja in 2nd Test.
– Bumrah rested for the 4th Test.
– Inexperience batting with 3 to 5 debutants.

Still India won the Test series 4-1 against England, the best performance under Rohit Sharma as a leader. pic.twitter.com/Sl1BkRBqPM

Eng media touted this as the best Eng team ever that's revolutionising Test cricket, and was up against an Ind team in transition and also missing 3-4 key players. And it still got hammered! Beating India at home in Test cricket could be the toughest challenge in Sport. #INDvENG pic.twitter.com/vE0xcFyWLL

This is not the defeat of England. This is the defeat of BAZBALL. The very method that was hyped up beyond limits, throughout the series.

It has been Decimated. Decapitated. Subject to public humiliation.

Remember who defeated you, BAZBALL. We did. INDIA did.
