Team India is all set to face Ireland in a three-match T20I series starting on Friday, August 18. Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make his International comeback after recovering from injury in this series (Ind vs Ire)

The forthcoming series between India and Ireland offers the comeback of pace sensation Jasprit Bumrah, who has been sidelined since September 2022 due to a back stress fracture. Bumrah’s hiatus will come to an end as he joins the squad for the series against Ireland. His last outing for India came in a T20I match against Australia in Hyderabad on September 25, 2022.

This series bears major importance for Bumrah, providing him with crucial match practice to prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup 2023. Leading a young team, the 29-year-old will have Rinku Singh and Jitesh Sharma making their debut for the Indian team.

On the other side, Ireland, under the guidance of captain Paul Stirling, will play a strong cricketing nation like India. This opportunity will assist the Irish players acclimate to the demands given by powerful teams. Ireland’s squad features famous names such as Andrew Balbirnie, Harry Tector, Lorcan Tucker, Joshua Little, and others.

Interestingly, India and Ireland have met in five T20Is so far, with India emerging victors in all matches. Paul Stirling’s team will be anxious to break India’s winning streak against them and capitalize on facing a comparatively less experienced Indian side in this forthcoming series. The Men in Blue recently suffered a setback, losing a five-match T20I series against West Indies by a score of 2-3. This adds to their drive to bounce back from the defeat.

Conversely, Ireland’s most recent T20Is were played during the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Europe Region Qualifier in July. They achieved the second slot with four wins from six matches, earning nine points.

The battle between Ind vs Ire will unfold in three T20Is slated for Friday, August 18, August 20, and August 23 at The Village in Dublin. Ind vs Ire series not only marks Bumrah’s return but also gives a platform for both sides to show their strength and prepare for their respective future challenges.
