Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman, has given a bold statement regarding Babar Azam and Virat Kohli’s Comparison. Sarfaraz said that the comparison of these two players is not right as they are players of two different levels.

Babar Azam and Virat Kohli have been compared from time to time in white ball cricket. Although, both players are on a different level. Sarfaraz Ahmed, Pakistan’s wicket-keeper batsman, when asked about this comparison, he directly favored his team-mate and current Pakistan team captain Babar Azam. He said, “Both Players are at a different level, so it would not be fair enough to compare them.”

What Exactly Sarfaraz Ahmed Said?

Sarfaraz pointed out that Babar started his career much later than Virat and it won’t be fair to compare the two players at this point in time. However, he did mention that nobody plays the cover drive and on drive better than Babar.

“Just leave Babar Azam. There is no comparison between him and Virat. Virat has been playing cricket for the last 14-15 years. Babar made his debut in 2015. Wait and watch Babar till he plays as much cricket as Virat; he will stand at the same stage. No one plays cover drive and on drive better than Babar. Just let him play and enjoy,” Sarfaraz said.

Sarfaraz Also Opened Up on rifts with Rizwan:

Sarfaraz Ahmed opened up on his rift with Mohammad Rizwan

Mohammad Rizwan took on the role of Pakistan’s wicketkeeper when Sarfaraz Ahmed fell out of favor. Rizwan, aged 31, displayed his exceptional skills in all three formats of the game, particularly in T20Is, where he boasts an impressive average of 49.07. With 25 fifties and a remarkable century under his belt, he proved his worth behind the stumps.

On the other hand, Sarfaraz Ahmed made a determined effort, working hard on his fitness, and successfully returned to the side for the Test series against New Zealand in December 2022-January 2023. The former ICC Champions Trophy-winning captain made an outstanding comeback, earning the Player of the Series award for his remarkable run-scoring abilities.

The dilemma of choosing the primary wicket-keeper batsman in the Pakistani team has sparked widespread debate recently. But coming to this topic, Sarfaraz has put an end to any speculation about his relationship with Rizwan. He made it clear that there is no animosity between them and expressed his disappointment towards those on social media who attempt to create divisions. The 36-year-old veteran also commended the unity within the Pakistan team.

“The current Pakistan team is very well united. All the players share a brotherly bond and there is no hate between us,” Sarfaraz was quoted as saying by Cricket Pakistan.

“There is no hate between me and Rizwan. The hate is just among the people on social media. These people have nothing to do in their life; hence they come to social media and start writing unnecessary things.” Sarfaraz concluded.

Sri Lanka secured a 32-run win against India in the second ODI at R. Premadasa Stadium, gaining a 1-0 advantage in the three-match series. In a disappointing turn of events, the Indian cricket team, captained by Rohit Sharma, faced their first loss of the Sri Lanka series on Sunday. The hosts secured a comfortable 32-run victory at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. After the match, Rohit Sharma didn't hold back in his critique, acknowledging that his team failed to play up to standard during the encounter. Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bat first, setting India a target of 241 runs. The Men in Blue got off to a promising start, but their chase unraveled significantly, largely due to an outstanding bowling display by Sri Lankan leg-spinner Jeffrey Vandersay. Vandersay's career-best figures of 6/33 played a pivotal role in dismantling India's batting lineup. Rohit Sharma's brisk 64 off 44 balls initially put India in a strong position. However, his dismissal, attempting a reverse sweep that was brilliantly caught by Pathum Nissanka off Vandersay's bowling, signaled the beginning of India's downfall. When asked about his shot selection during the post-match presentation, the 37-year-old defended his aggressive approach. Speaking to the presenters after the match, Rohit said, “We didn't play good cricket, that's why we lost the game. We do understand the nature of this surface and the nature of how the game is going to go as well. It gets really, really tough in the middle overs. So you have to try and capitalize in the powerplay and get as many runs as possible. That's what both openers were trying to do. But we were just not good enough today.” “The reason I got 65 runs is because of the way I batted. When I bat like that, there is bound to be risk taking, and I'm not afraid to do that. Whenever you get out, whether you score 100, 50 or zero, you feel disappointed if you don't get across the line. But that won't change my intent,” the Indian skipper further added. In challenging spin-friendly conditions in Colombo on Sunday, India faced a target of 241 runs. Despite valiant efforts from captain Rohit Sharma and middle-order batsman Axar, the rest of the Indian lineup struggled. As a result, the team fell short, losing the match by 32 runs.
