The Test match concluded with the hosts securing a convincing 106-run victory, marked by Jasprit Bumrah’s stylish dismissal of Tom Hartley for the final wicket. England, commencing the fourth day at 67/1, steadily lost wickets at regular intervals, ultimately being bowled out for 292 in their second innings.

The significance of the second Test was increased for India after England claimed a 28-run win in the first Test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad. Opting to bat on a favorable track after winning the toss in Vizag, Rohit Sharma set the stage for India’s innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal took center stage, notching his maiden Test double-century with a spectacular 209 off 290 deliveries, propelling India to a total of 396.

Jasprit Bumrah shouldered the responsibility during England’s first innings, securing a six-wicket haul to restrict them to 253. Despite a struggle in form, Shubman Gill contributed significantly with a remarkable century in the second innings, scoring 104 off 147 deliveries. This effort helped set a challenging target of 399 for England in the fourth innings.
