Anticipation is high as India aims for a solid start in the tournament, and what better way to begin than by securing a victory against Pakistan in the opening match. Looking back, Sri Lanka holds the title of reigning champions, emerging victorious in the 2022 edition of this prestigious tournament when it was contested in the T20 format. However, this year, the Asia Cup will shift gears to the ODI format, with the impending ODI World Cup adding to the intrigue.

Undoubtedly, the Asia Cup 2023 will serve as great preparation for the forthcoming World Cup, a grand event planned to commence on October 5. India gladly undertakes the task of hosting the entire event, and their World Cup journey gets off on October 8 in Chennai against Australia.
