In an electrifying showdown at the R Premadasa Cricket Stadium in Colombo, Team India delivered a masterclass performance in the Asia Cup 2023 final, securing a resounding 10-wicket victory over Sri Lanka. Their dominance was on full display as they required only 6.1 overs to successfully chase down Sri Lanka’s target. The hero of the match, Mohammed Siraj, wreaked havoc on the Sri Lankan batting lineup, restricting them to a mere 50 runs in the opening innings.

In a remarkable display of talent, Mohammed Siraj achieved a record-breaking feat by claiming four wickets in a single over, stunning the opposition. Within the Sri Lankan lineup, only Kusal Mendis managed 17 runs, while Dunith Wellalage contributed 13, marking the sole double-digit score for their team. Alongside Siraj’s stellar performance, the versatile Hardik Pandya secured three wickets, and Jasprit Bumrah added one to the tally.

This victory marked India’s 8th ODI Asia Cup championship in its history, and it left fans absolutely elated. After a considerable wait, the Indian team had once again clinched the title, with their previous win dating back to 2018 in Dubai, a momentous occasion that was followed by a near miss in 2022. The opening duo of Ishan Kishan and Shubman Gill wasted no time in chasing down the unexpectedly low total, displaying exceptional skill and determination.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to India’s win in the Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka:
