Pakistan Unveils Exciting Squads for Asia Cup and Thrilling Afghanistan Series

Pakistan announced their squad for the upcoming Asia Cup tournament and 3-match ODI series against Afghanistan. The Asia Cup tournament is all set to start from August 30.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken the initiative to unveil their team roster for the highly anticipated Asia Cup 2023 and the imminent three-match ODI series against Afghanistan. The announcement highlighted that an initially composed 18-player squad will face Afghanistan, with matches scheduled from August 22 to August 26.

Subsequently, the team will be streamlined to a final selection of 15 players for the forthcoming Asia Cup, set to commence on August 30. Notably, this prestigious tournament will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan, promising an enthralling cricketing spectacle.

In anticipation of their upcoming three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, the team is scheduled to reach Hambantota on August 18.

With the Asia Cup 2023 looming large on the horizon, Pakistan’s performance in the 50-over format of the competition becomes an intriguing prospect. The presence of star players like Fakhar Zaman, Babar Azam, and Mohammad Rizwan, complemented by the prowess of Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, and Haris Rauf, underscores the team’s well-rounded composition.

Afghanistan ODI squad for Pakistan series:

Hashmatullah Shahidi (C), Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ikram Alikhil, Ibrahim Zadran, Riaz Hassan, Rahmat Shah, Najibullah Zadran, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, Rashid Khan, Noor Ahmad, Mujeeb Ur Rehman, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Abdul Rahman, Mohammad Saleem Safi and Wafadar Momand.
