There is a piece of big good news coming straight from the house of NCA, KL Rahul who has been in Bengaluru for his rehab, has resumed batting practice amid the several reports claiming him to be unfit.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) took to Twitter to share a video of Rahul practicing in a light batting session where he was seen playing some light weighted shots to get his rhythm back.
Rahul has been out of cricket since May 1 due to a hamstring injury. He suffered an injury while fielding in a match against Royal Challengers Bangalore. The LSG captain then went for surgery in May and then landed at National Cricket Academy for his rehabilitation.
He is still at NCA and is expected to resume his full-fledged batting soon. LSG shared this video of him practicing his batting when several reports were claiming him to be unfit for the upcoming Asia Cup which is scheduled to be in August.
Rahul, India’s well-experienced batter is expected to play a crucial role in the 2023 ICC World Cup in Rishabh Pant’s absence. Rahul is a confirmed selection in India’s World Cup squad and he will take part in the ICC event without any match practice if he misses the Asia Cup. With Rishabh Pant absent, India needs an experienced wicketkeeper in Rahul.
Ishan Kishan and Sanju Samson who are a part of India’s ODI squad against West Indies are also in the lineup for the spot of wicket-keeper batsman.
Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah is all set to make his return to the Indian Team for the Ireland tour. Many reports have claimed that he has started bowling in the nets.
He will take part in the shorter format first before making his official comeback to ODIs. Bumrah is the spinal cord of the Indian bowling attack, with his presence the lineup just becomes even more deadlier. He will lead the pace line-up for India in the upcoming 2023 ICC ODI World Cup with other two fast bowlers, Siraj and Shami.
