The 21-year-old sensational cricketing talent has been blowing away his opponents with the kind of performance he has been putting on throughout this year. Yashasvi Jaiswal made his debut during the first ongoing test against West Indies and played a brilliant knock of unbeaten 40 till the stumps on day 1, managing to provide a solid start with Rohit Sharma.

India’s young left-handed opener became the 17th player from the country to score a Test hundred on his debut after he reached the three-figure mark on day 2 of the ongoing test against West Indies.

Jaiswal, who started the day with 40, continued to play with his elegant-styled cricketing shots. He played the shots very confidently and positively throughout the different sessions. He had his plans ready, he accelerated super quickly as he arrived at the crease after the lunch break.

The opener completed his debut hundred during the 70th over when the opening partnership with Rohit Sharma had crossed the mark of 200. This is the highest run partnership for the 1st wicket against the West Indies in Test cricket as the young boy Jaiswal also became the first Indian opener to score a Test ton on debut outside of his home conditions.

Jaiswal, though, is only the seventh Indian batter and the first in 13 years to score a Test hundred on debut away from home. Suresh Raina, who made 120 against Sri Lanka in 2010, is the last Indian batter to score a Test ton on debut outside India.

Jaiswal had played only 15 first-class games in his career before this Test, but averages over 80 in those with nine hundreds, including a stunning 265 in the second innings of the Duleep Trophy Final last year.

Yashasvi Jaiswal: The Rising Super-Star

Jaiswal has been in terrific form this year. With an opportunity in his hand to perform as an opener, he has been marking his solid commitment to the game and also making sure to get a spot fixed as an opener in Indian Test Cricket. He was in flawless form throughout the IPL and after this dream debut with a maiden test century on his first Test, it is very sure that this 21-year-old young boy has marked his presence in his own style. After making his ton, Jaiswal hugged his captain and started celebrating his hundred in his style, also bringing a smile to Rohit’s face. With this kind of body language and positive shot selection style, he is made for this format, and with this kind of performance, the time is no longer when he will be delivering the best for his country in different conditions.

T20I Series Loss To West Indies Should Be A Wake-up Call For India: Sunil Gavaskar

Salman Butt, the former cricketer for Pakistan, predicts that India's recent series defeat by the West Indies will have a negative impact on their confidence as they get ready for the important Asia Cup and the 2023 ODI World Cup. With a series loss of 2-3 against the West Indies, the Indian side suffered an eight-wicket loss in the fifth T20I. The former cricketer Salman Butt examined the matches in the lead-up to the important ODI competitions, starting with the Asia Cup on August 30. Salman Butt made a bold claim after analyzing the matches. His assertion that India's loss might negatively affect their confidence and their performance in forthcoming matches in the World Cup tournament. "It doesn't matter what the format is or who the opposition is. Winning does boost the side's confidence for their next assignment. Similarly, a defeat like this will surely dent India's confidence. You might not see it in the interviews, but you will see it in the body language and decision-making," Butt said on his YouTube channel. The team management decided to back up-and-coming players for the five-match series instead of veteran cricketers like Virat Kohli and skipper Rohit Sharma, including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubman Gill, and Mukesh Kumar. Butt underlined that the resurrected Indian squad, which included a number of youthful players, was unable to completely realize their potential during the tournament. Unfortunately, they had difficulties facing the West Indies team and had trouble getting good results. "Many would say that it was a T20I series, and several of India's top players were missing. But at the same time, this is India's normal practice. It wasn't the first time that a young side was picked. It also wasn't that West Indies are a very big team, and it was very difficult for India to beat them," he further added.
