India and South Africa are gearing up to face each other in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 final, set to take place at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.

Who Will Be The Winner If India vs South Africa T20 World Cup Final Is A Washout? Here Is The Full Detailv

Rain has made its presence felt a few times in this tournament. The weather nearly threatened India’s semi-final clash against England earlier this week in Guyana, but fortunately, the skies cleared in time. Rohit Sharma’s team went on to secure a comfortable victory, avenging their 2022 T20 World Cup semifinal loss in Adelaide to reach the final. However, the highly anticipated final against South Africa at Kensington Oval in Bridgetown, Barbados, this Saturday might face interruptions due to thunderstorms.

Weather reports indicate that on Saturday, June 29, temperatures in Bridgetown will reach 30°C during the day and drop to 27°C at night. Although the day is expected to be sunny, thunderstorms are forecasted, with light showers likely in the evening. There is a 70% chance of rain during the day and a 38% chance at night. Humidity levels are predicted to be 80% during the day and 85% at night.

What happens if the India vs South Africa T20 World Cup final is washed out?

If rain washes out the IND vs SA match on Saturday, June 29, it will be continued on the reserve day, June 30, as designated by the ICC. According to ICC playing conditions, every effort will be made to finish the match on the scheduled day, including reducing overs if necessary. For that ICC has allotted an extra 190 minutes to finish the game on the scheduled day. Only if the minimum required overs to constitute a match cannot be bowled on the scheduled day will the game be completed on the reserve day.

To achieve a result, at least 10 overs must be bowled to the team batting second. Additionally, if the match starts on the scheduled day but is interrupted by rain in Barbados, causing no further play, it will resume from the point it stopped on the reserve day.
