Aakash Chopra, the former Indian cricketer turned commentator, has been sharing his worries about how Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opener for Rajasthan Royals (RR), is faring in this year’s IPL.

As the Rajasthan Royals gear up to face off against the Gujarat Titans in Jaipur on April 10th, Aakash Chopra has brought attention to Yashasvi Jaiswal’s struggle against left-arm pacers, particularly when they opt for short-pitched deliveries.

Chopra advises the young opener from RR to approach these situations cautiously, given the likelihood of facing left-arm pacers like Spencer Johnson or Joshua Little from GT in the 24th match of the ongoing IPL 2024 on Wednesday in Jaipur.

It’s worth noting that Jaiswal has had a tough time in the ongoing IPL 2024, managing only 39 runs across four innings at an average of just 9.75. Despite this, Rajasthan has been on fire in the tournament, winning all four of their games so far.

However, Chopra emphasizes that Jaiswal’s struggles in the IPL shouldn’t automatically raise doubts about his spot in the Indian cricket team for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024. While criticism may come his way, Chopra suggests that Jaiswal should stay focused on his game and not let IPL form overshadow his potential on the international stage.

“They might trouble you again by bowling short balls. So please play a little cautiously because no one has spoken about it thus far and I am still saying that based on the performances in the first seven matches, a question shouldn’t be raised over your place with regards to the T20 World Cup. However, people will say something, their job is to talk.” – Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube channel.

Aakash Chopra has highlighted Riyan Parag as a standout player to keep an eye on during the upcoming IPL 2024 clash between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) in Jaipur. He stressed the significance of stability in RR’s middle order, especially facing GT’s formidable spin attack, potentially led by Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad.

Aakash sees Riyan Parag as a crucial asset for Rajasthan to combat Gujarat’s spin threat, given his prowess against spin bowling. With spin-friendly conditions anticipated at Jaipur’s Sawai Mansingh Indoor Stadium, Parag’s skills could prove vital for RR.

Fans can anticipate another commanding performance from Rajasthan at their home ground in Jaipur against Gujarat. However, Gujarat, having suffered three losses in the ongoing IPL 2024, will be eager to reverse their fortunes.
