India secured a five-wicket victory over England in the fourth Test at JSCA International Stadium Complex, Ranchi, clinching an insurmountable 3-1 lead in the ongoing five-match series.

In a thrilling turnaround, the Indian Cricket Team secured a remarkable 5-wicket victory over England in the fourth Test of the ongoing five-match series at the Jharkhand Cricket Association complex in Ranchi.

Facing a challenging situation after England won the toss and chose to bat, the visitors stumbled at 112/5. Joe Root’s outstanding century (122*) rescued England, propelling them to a respectable total of 353. Akash Deep shone for India, claiming three crucial wickets.

India’s batting struggled in their first innings, finding themselves at 177/7. However, Dhurv Jurel (90) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (73) staged a crucial partnership, guiding India to a total of 307, conceding a 46-run lead. Shoaib Bashir stood out with a five-wicket haul for England.

The match took a dramatic turn as India’s bowlers, led by Ravichandran Ashwin’s fifer and Kuldeep Yadav’s four wickets, bundled out England for just 145 runs. With a target of 192, Rohit Sharma (55) and Yashasvi Jaiswal (37) set the stage with an 87-run opening stand.

Although India faced a wobble at 120/5, Shubman Gill (52) and the composed Dhruv Jurel (39 not out) formed a crucial 72-run partnership. Their efforts guided India to a thrilling 5-wicket victory, securing the series 3-1 with one match remaining.
