Mayank Agarwal, the captain of the Karnataka Ranji Team, found himself in a health crisis just before his scheduled flight to Delhi when he experienced a sudden deterioration in his well-being. According to his manager, the cricketer consumed water from a pouch placed in front of his seat, leading to stomach pain, a burning sensation in his mouth and throat, and subsequent vomiting during the flight. Following the incident, the 32-year-old was swiftly taken to a local hospital in Agartala.

Upon admission to the ICU at ILS Hospital, reports indicated that Mayank Agarwal was in stable condition but would undergo further examinations. Amid these developments, his manager filed a formal complaint with the police, alleging that the cricketer had ingested a ‘poisonous liquid’ on the flight and called for a thorough investigation. Kiran Kumar, SP West Tripura, confirmed these details while briefing the press on the situation.

“Mayank Agarwal, an international cricket player is now stable and his vitals are normal. But his manager has lodged a specific complaint under NCCPS (New Capital Complex Police Station) to investigate the matter,” Kiran was quoted as saying by India Today.

“His manager said that when he was sitting in the airplane, there was a pouch in front of him. He drank a little bit and not much, but suddenly there was irritation in his mouth, and suddenly he couldn’t talk also and was brought to ILS hospital. He had swelling and ulcers in the mouth. Otherwise, his vitals are stable,” he added.

Following his release from the hospital, the Indian opener is set to return to his roots in Bengaluru on January 31st. Kiran Gitte, the State Health Secretary, affirmed this information, assuring that the cricketer will receive top-notch medical care provided by the state.

“Police has admitted his complaint and we will investigate as to what happened. As per his manager, he will travel to Bengaluru tomorrow and meanwhile, whatever best treatment is available in Agartala, we will provide him,” Gatte said.

Agarwal hopped onto his social media platform to give everyone a significant health update. Sharing the pictures, Mayank wrote:

“I am feeling better now. Gearing to comeback. Thank you for prayers, love and support, everyone!”
