Rishabh Pant, the dynamic Indian wicketkeeper-batsman, joined the training sessions of the Delhi Capitals in Kolkata. His presence marks a significant step in his journey back to full fitness after a horrific car accident in December last year.

Pant faced a series of surgeries to recover from burns and a lingering knee issue aggravated by a car crash in Mumbai. After relying on crutches for months, he reappeared during the IPL 2023 at a Delhi Capitals match in Kotla.

Since then, Rishabh Pant has ditched the crutches, resumed batting in the nets, and played his first cricket match in Bengaluru on August 15. His journey back to form continued at the NCA, focusing on rigorous wicket-keeping drills and facing deliveries at speeds up to 150 kph.

While he missed selection for the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, rumors suggest Pant might stage his comeback either during the South Africa tour later this year or in the test series against England in January–February 2024.

Reports indicate that the BCCI is taking a cautious approach, prioritizing Pant’s match fitness. A stint in domestic cricket might precede his return to the Indian team.

On a certain social media platform ‘X,’ a fan shared a brief video capturing Pant’s vibrant health and high spirits. The clip depicts Pant engaging with supporters, smiling, and graciously posing for photos while participating in the Delhi Capitals training camp in Kolkata.
