Logan Van Beek Reflects On His Super Over Heroic Performance in the World Cup Qualifier

Logan Van Beek recently expressed his opinion that the outstanding performance in the Super Over was a dream for him at the time. He stated that at that point, all he was thinking about was getting as many runs for his team as he could.

Netherland batter Logan Van Beek found himself in the limelight as he played a pivotal role in steering his team toward the rapidly approaching ODI World Cup 2023. In a remarkable feat etched into the record books, Van Beek scored an impressive 30 runs during a Super Over against the West Indies in the ODI World Cup Qualifiers.

But that’s not all – Van Beek’s influence extended to the bowling aspect as well. He secured two crucial wickets, ultimately leading the Netherlands to victory. This outstanding performance transformed him into a national hero, and his incredible showing in the Super Over remains a hot topic of discussion. He has truly etched his name in history with this remarkable display.

When asked about his extraordinary performance in the Super Over, Van Beek recently shared that the memory feels a bit hazy to him at the moment. He humbly mentioned that during that crucial moment, his main focus was on accumulating as many runs as possible for his team.

“I have watched that game a couple of times now, and I still can’t quite work out how I hit 30 off the over. It was a bit of a blur at the time, and I guess I was in a bit of a zone, and I was just trying to get as many as we possibly could, and 30 was the magic number, and thankfully it was enough to win that match,” Logan Van Beek said in an interview with Revsportz.

The Netherland cricket team will be keen to do well and establish themselves on Indian soil because the World Cup 2023 is scheduled to start on October 5. When questioned about performing in front of a large Indian audience, Van Beek excitedly said:

“Yes, it is. It is the ultimate cricketing experience that I as a player can ever dream of. I always wanted to play a 50-over World Cup, and there can be nothing better than playing in India in front of passionate Indian fans.”

“And now here I am, part of the 2023 World Cup in India. We are all excited. We will do everything possible to do our best. It is time we take our oars to India, to now boat around India. As a team, as a collective, we will back each other to the fullest to ensure that our boats are at their best in India during the World Cup.”
